Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou in Beaumont Puy De Domme in France, was born on the 9th of August in 1976. Audrey is the elder child of four. Audrey Tautou's parents who are a dental doctor as well as a teacher at school helped and encouraged her initial passion for drama and theater. She initially hoped to be a monkey expert was replaced by a desire to study theater and drama. Her meteoric rise as a young actress was swift and marked by her early successes. It was only at the age of 1999 after which she began acting professionally. In the years following her studies, Tautou took part in the French TV show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers. Although she studied at The Institut Catholique de Paris and attended church in her youth Tautou has stayed away from the Catholic tradition, saying that she is not officially Catholic. In addition to her acting work, she was also interested in modeling. She was the model of L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and has been referred as "The Chanel Muse". An avid photographer, she produced a recent exhibition at the Arles International Festival titled Superficial. Her work focuses on celebrity in addition to popularity. It also features portraits of herself and focus on journalists that have scrutinised Tautou since her meteoric rise in stardom after Amelie. Audrey Tautou became a star after her international fame was established with her role debut as Amelie Poulain in the film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie made international waves in the field of box office, and also won numerous awards across the globe. It is the most successful French language film in the US. In the years following this film, Tautou appeared in many films that ranged from British dramas and Jean Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles. She then moved to Hollywood and was in the film with Tom Hanks alongside Ron Howard in The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.
